IOSH Managing Safely
Accredited four day public or In-company course
This four day programme will provide delegates with an understanding of health and safety requirements relating to their work activities. It will highlight organisational and human influences on safety at work and focus on a range of risk control measures essential to company activities. It will help to develop an approach to safe working, using the principles outlined in Successful Health and Safety Management HSG65 together with the more fundamental tried and tested techniques of health and safety management.
At the end of the programme you should be able to:
Understand the full scope of health and safety
Apply management principles to create a positive health & safety culture
Explain the importance and know what comprises a ‘suitable and sufficient’ risk assessment.
Select appropriate precautions and controls to reduce activity risks
Understand how the manager’s role relates to both the criminal and civil law
Describe a health and safety management system
Outline risks associated with a wide range of activities
Establish the causes of accidents and apply accident prevention principles
Describe the internal and external reporting mechanisms for accidents and incidents
Consider how industry affects the environment and list the ways in which individuals can minimise pollution and waste
