Managing Asbestos - The Duty Holders Responsibilities

One day public or In-company programme

This one day course is designed to provide information and guidance on the risks of working with or around asbestos. Delegates will gain knowledge of the legal mechanisms in place to control asbestos and be given guidance on the duty to manage asbestos in the control of asbestos at work regulations 2006. This course satisfies the legal requirement for awareness training. It does not provide competence for the supervision of asbestos licensed workers.

  • Explain where asbestos is likely to be present in buildings and how exposure to asbestos can be avoided
  • Take the appropriate action when asbestos or suspected asbestos containing materials are discovered
  • Provide information on asbestos legislation
  • Manage the risk from asbestos in commercial premises
