One day public or In-company programme

This one day programme aims to provide managers with an appreciation of the need to take reasonable care in the control of contractors working on company sites, and the actions necessary to fulfil legal duties and company policy.

At the end of the programme you should be able to:

  • Outline the legal requirements relating to selection and control of contractors
  • Identify the range of legislation governing the work of contractors
  • Explain the importance of an effective contractor control policy
  • Develop an appropriate contractor selection and monitoring strategy
  • Recognise the main features of safety method statements and their application
  • Explain the consequences of too much and too little control
