Working at Height One day public or In-company programme

The HSE advise that most major injuries are caused by falls from less than 2 metres. These regulations remove the minimum height requirement (previously 2 metres), and concentrate on the potential consequences of a fall and the selection of suitable work equipment.

This one day course will address the key implications of the legislation and in particular the hierarchy of control measures to follow when carrying out work at height.

The aim of this course is to equip those personnel who manage or supervise their own staff, or manage the work of contractors, working at height, with sufficient knowledge to carry out or approve risk assessments.

Subject areas covered:

  • Types of falls, reasons and enforcement actions
  • Hierarchy of controls
  • Selection of access equipment
  • A risk assessment based approach to all work at height
